Kate fell in love with house music as a teenager in the early 90’s. When clubbing and attending raves in the late 90’s / early 2000’s, a lot of the time she found herself looking over the DJ, observing and feeling inspired.

Influenced and inspired by friends, Kate invested in Technics turntables and started collecting vinyl. She DJ'd in some venues in Adelaide playing hard house, however hung up the headphones as other passions took over. She sold the Technics years later, but not the vinyl. Her love for house and techno never faded.

Since early 2010’s Kate has been mostly moved by the sounds of progressive house and techno, influenced mostly by Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Joris Voorn and the ever-growing community of house and techno producers.

After moving to the east-coast of Australia in 2020 Kate invested in a Pioneer XDJ-RX2 digital set up and fell in love with playing new grooves with new technology. Now spinning tunes again, her current sets have a melodic, uplifting, and sometimes deep and funky vibe. Her respect and love for old school “real” house continues to deepen and you can hear this in some of her sets.

From Kate: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the team of talented DJ’s at Balearic FM and I love sharing my sets with the community of listeners.”
